As a parent, I truly love my children, but there are times when I could use some peace and quiet—no crying, no pushing, no touching, no hiding from each other, just quiet. So we move through our day as referees, breaking up fights, wiping away tears, and kissing boo-boos. It is a labour of love, truly, because it is not for everyone, and the lucky few would not give it up for anything in the world.
