A night out at the Charolette Knights Baseball Game, The air was electric and the excitement was everywhere. We were sitting in a box above third base, the beer was cold and the game was hot. Everyone was having a good time; and the food was great can’t wait to go again what a fun family night out.
Children in foster care deserve supportive communities and loving homes. Many young people in the system benefit from mentorship, stable relationships, and access to resources that help them thrive. If you’re interested in supporting foster children, consider volunteering with local organizations, becoming a foster parent, or donating to programs that help these vulnerable youth.
I thought I would enjoy retirement, but alas no not at all the people I normally associate with are all still working. I take walks and take photos so I spend time outside and get fresh air and sunshine. I am having thoughts of maybe going back to work, to have that adult socialization. We all have a need for human interaction on some level.
SEPTEMBER 22nd 2026
September unfolds across the North Carolina mountains like a whispered promise—crisp mountain air cuts through the last warmth of summer, carrying with it the earthy perfume of pine and the faint sweetness of change. The ancient ridges begin their transformation, edges of crimson and gold creeping through the deep green canopy as if the mountains themselves are blushing with quiet pride. From the high peaks, the views stretch endlessly: layers of blue-hazed mountains rolling toward distant horizons, each ridge darker than the last, until they fade into the soft watercolor of the sky. In the valleys below, fog rises like breath at dawn, pooling in the hollows and clinging to the slopes in delicate wisps, obscuring and revealing the landscape in turns. Here, time feels suspended—the world slows to the rhythm of wind through the leaves and the distant call of a hawk circling overhead. There is a peace in these mountains that settles deep into your bones, a sense of timelessness where the weight of modern life simply cannot reach, where you remember what it means to be small, quiet, and alive beneath such vast and enduring beauty.
