I’m just an average man, living an average life. Going through the trials and tribulations of this simple stage of my life. This is an example of a day in my life, Unlike mosts, which are fulled of joy and happiness. This day I fall out of bed to my world being covered with a blanket of snow, the cold joy God has bestowed upon the world on this day I must shovel out fore life goes on wind, rain, snow or ice. I like most have learn time waits for no one.

I am the descendent of Share croppers whom I am proud of because of what they went through and it did not crush their spirit. I guess that’s where my parents got it from and passed it down to myself and my siblings. We work until we cannot work any longer but we get the job done at all cost. We cherish each day as if it is a gift and are thankful for it. I don’t expect any thing from any one, I guess that is why I’m never disappointed by the actions of others. We have learned to only give what we can truly do without and letting others know this has saved me a lot of heart aches.

In the begining I was 13 years old when I got a Summer Youth Employment Program Job. I worked all summer in McCaren Park in Greenpoint Brooklyn, then there was the job in Grand St. Grocery Store own by George and Hilda Mercado after school hours. I would sweep and mop sometimes I would stock the shelves, I learned a lot about retail from that experience. than there was Jack’s hobby shop on Bedford Avenue and Grand St. which I worked at until I was 16 and 1/2 at which time I signed up for the Military, following in the foot steps of my father and two older brothers. I have to stop here and state it was the smartest thing I ever done in my life besides listening to my parents who told me Save for what you want but Work for what you need. The military afforded me the chance to travel to foreign lands I never would have gone on my own, I saw how people carried themselves in their natural environment.

Fast track to the 1980’s I had decided to become a wine specialist, after 4 long years of studying I started working Michael Skurkin wines and Monsieur touton wines and later Castello Banfi. Their portfolios covered many items, and allowed me to further my knowledge of wines and regions and production styles. I found it tiring at times but always rewarding I am very grateful to those who helped me along the way. Which leaves off here in 2026 I am retired and finally leaving the North and heading South For a less stressful life, full of resting, and fishing good company.
